About Us

Jeshurun Assembly's inception was marked by a divine whisper. In early 2021, Pastor Peter felt a profound spiritual calling when the Holy Spirit gently whispered the word "Jeshurun" to him. This term, rooted in Hebrew, signifies "Righteous" or "Upright" in the eyes of the Lord, as mentioned in Isaiah 44:2.

This profound experience characterized by repeated whispers and an unmistakable voice of God, deeply moved Pastor Peter and his wife, Cheryl. They felt a profound conviction to establish a church ministry dedicated to reaching the Tamil-speaking community.

Recognizing the weight of their divine mission, Pastor Peter and Sister Cheryl heeded the call, founding the Jeshurun Assembly amidst the global pandemic. They dedicated a year to fervent prayer and seeking divine guidance.

In response, the Lord directed them to find a tangible space for their worship services. On March 21, 2022, God's vision became clearer when He led them to a unit at Pioneer Junction, revealing His deep compassion for the Indian community in the West area.

With unwavering faith, Pastor Peter and the ministry team embraced their divine directive. God, in His magnanimity, began arranging the ideal worship space, providing in ways only He can. Then, on May 1, 2022, in alignment with God's perfect timing and coinciding with the relaxation of pandemic regulations, Jeshurun Assembly joyfully commenced its first physical worship service.

Why Jeshurun?

"Jeshurun" is a poetic and affectionate term used in the Bible (Old Testament) that refers to Israel. It's derived from the Hebrew root "y-sh-r," which means "to be upright" or "righteous," so "Jeshurun" can be understood to mean "the upright one" or the "righteous one."
